In the past DOA has collected printed documents called Land Information Integration and Modernization plans (LIIMP) from the state agencies. Starting in 2009 we will be collecting information electronically using web based surveytools. Since a plan document is no longer being requested, this whole process has been renamed the Land Information Integration and Modernization Survey (LIIMS).
The 2009 Land Information Integration and Modernization Survey (LIIMS) is divided into two parts. The first part is a business survey. The goal of this survey is to identify the role GIS plays in support of state agency business programs. The second part of this survey uses the GIS Inventory (Ramona) tool produced by the National States'Geographic Information Council (NSGIC). This survey’s primary purpose is to track the status of GIS in US state andlocal government to aid the planning and building of Spatial Data Infrastructures.
